A very attractive Waltham pocket watch running in the popular 16s Model 1908 grade 625.
Gold plated Dennison Star case. Nice and tight. Some brassing to the edges of the case rear. Crystal - I’m uncertain, it may be the original glass. It does have some scratches towards the centre but is generally in decent enough nick to leave in place.
Clean chip / crack free dial with Roman numerals. Original blued steel hands doing what they do.
A beautifully decorated 17 jewel 1908/625 ticking away quite happily with decent (not perfect) amplitude. The movement will tick away in three positions without a visible difference. The watch has kept time on the bench over the brief period that I have monitored it for. While the movement does look relatively clean, the service history is unknown and is believed that it is probably well overdue.
The crown / stem do what they’re designed to do and the sleeve depth appears to be correct - I did feel a single tooth grind the very first time that I set the time but it may just have been out of alignment.
The watch is sold as a good runner with respectable timing and it is recommended that the movement is stripped and cleaned before it is put into regular use. Having said that it could run for years before it eventually stops…
I have many thousands more watch parts for many brands that I may never have the time to list. Please feel free to ask if there is a part you need and I will take a look for you. Thanks!
