For sale we are delighted to present a very nice example of a cushion cased Rolex watch dating to the 1930s. The Watch has been serviced and is keeping excellent time.
The watch comprises of the following:
Genuine Rolex and Original 3 part nickel chromium plated case signed RWC to the inside of the caseback. Measures approximately 27mm without the crown. The visible areas of the case have retained an excellent level of plating and polish as has the inside back. There is some plate loss and pitting to the rear of the watch, however it is structurally sound and measures have been put into place to protect the case from this happening further. The three parts of the case snap together positively. The plexi crystal has had a polish and is relatively clean and clear.
The dial and hands have aged very gracefully. The backdrop is a frosted cream paint with very crisp text and minute track. Raised gilt numerals at every hour. There doesn’t appear to be any pitting or scratches to the dial surface. The beautifully blued steel hands are easily legible against the dial.
The watch is powered by a Rolex signed calibre 65. It has been fully serviced and fitted with a brand new mainspring. It is running excellently and is near spot on.
The watch has been paired with our custom made full grain leather trench watch / cuff type strap. These are perfect for maximising wrist presence of otherwise small watches and also acts as a barrier to help prevent verdigris build up and pitting to plated base metal cases. The case does have fixed lugs and therefore an open ended or straight through strap must be used. The lugs accept a 12mm strap should you wish to pair it with something other than the included cuff.
Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
